There’s hardly a person who isn’t familiar with the story of the man that got swallowed by a fish because he didn’t do what God called him to do. And then when God gave him a second chance, it leads to one of the greatest revivals ever. We love this story. Generations of kids have learned this story in Sunday school. But do we really know what the story is all about? If we think that the hero of the story is Jonah, we’d be wrong. The book begins and ends with descriptions of Jonah’s dismal record. So, let’s not think for a minute that Jonah is the hero of this story. He’s anything but. God is the hero of the story. The spotlight is really on the Lord.  In the book, Jonah is mentioned 18 times, God is mentioned 38 times, nearly twice as much. This is really a story about God and his amazing grace.
